Life can sometimes come at you sideways, but we do not have to be push aside or lose ourselves. Let me assist you in finding ways to become calm and focused and learn to maintain that calm when things in life start to seem overwhelming and elicit strong emotions from the past. I would like to facilitate with you a way to be fully present in your life and engage with the people around you. Lastly, learn to trust yourself and have the confidence to clarify and maintain your boundaries with yourself and others.

I specialize in EMDR, EFT, and DBT. I have received training in Gottman couple’s therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and my latest education was in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I have worked at a group private practice in College Station and DWI and Drug Court in Conroe where I worked with Addiction and many other co-occurring issues (trauma, attachment, and acceptance). Using EMDR, I have worked with trauma processing, PTSD, and attachment issues. My latest research and training is in Developmental Needs Met Strategy (DNMS) that works with the ego states that we develop in childhood through our experiences that negatively affect the decisions, reactions and perceptions. EMDR is a affective tool used for trauma processing.

One of my favorite counseling theories defines our basic human needs as attachment, connections, acceptance and self-valuation. Working to differentiate ourselves from our parental influences without losing the family connection. Both negative and positive experiences are colored by our upbringing and our ability to self-sooth and cope with anxiety. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) you can learn new coping skills to process and understand yourself, your actions and thoughts and beliefs.

I would love to have the privilege of walking with you as you work to change your thoughts, behaviors and emotions which may assist you in meeting the needs of the past. There are many avenues that we may take to achieve your goals. I am flexible and patient to figure out what will work best for you and humble enough to refer you if what I am able to offer is not helpful for you. Through in-depth discussions to aid you in gaining insight into your own life experiences and the skills training to give you the skills to cope internally, we can work to become your best self.
